The Degen Pool offers a yield of exactly 0% APY. It is not liquid, nor are deposits tradeable in DeFi. If you deposit 100 MON today, then you will get back 100 MON worth of shMON (using the exchange rate at time of withdrawal) whenever you decide to exit the pool. As soon as you exit, your MON will convert to shMON and will start earning yield.
Any MON deposited in the Degen Pool is staked and used to increase the APY for regular shMON holders. Although they don't understand why any reasonable person would intentionally give up both yield and utility, shMonad stakeholders are very appreciative of the noble sacrifice made by degens.
